We’re proud to be the only home care provider in the UK that helps clients to pursue an active lifestyle.
We’re all individuals – so why should all your home care options be the same?
We believe your care should help you to get more out of life, not hold you back. That’s why we have teams of professionally trained carers, on-hand to support you. Because it’s never enough just to survive; make now you time to thrive.

Our activity promise
We understand that movement is the key to thriving. That’s why we promise to promote at least 10-minutes of activity per 1 hour of visit. But what could that look like? It may involve us supporting you with seated exercises, going on a short walk, or catching some rays in the garden. For some people, the activity could be something as simple as playing a card game or moving their hands whilst listening to music. However you thrive, we’re here to help you do more of it.
Care that includes more activity can help roll back the effects of medical conditions, restore physical ability, help counter some kinds of mental ill-health and increase wellbeing.

Care designed to fit the individual
If you or your loved one are considering care, but don’t know what you’re asking for, we can carry out a short, friendly care assessment. During this, one of our trusted team will visit you and your family at your house, to learn more about your individual situation.
That way, your care plan can be written to reflect you – making note of your individual abilities, goals, routines and wellness aspirations. Once written, your care plan acts as your plan to thrive.

Did you know: Our first client was a family member
The first person we provided care for was a member of our own family. We understand, first-hand, the physical and emotional journey that people undergo when seeking care.
That’s why our care services prioritise the individual, helping them to get the most out of life. In fact, it’s this experience that led us to our values.
Our values
Values are essential for care services. Here are ours.

Possibility
We don’t see the final chapter, we see untapped potential

Progress
Whether small steps or giant leaps, we strive and evolve for the better.

Perserverance
We keep going because the rewards are priceless.

Why a finch?
We chose this small, beautiful creature to represent us for a range of reasons. Firstly, it’s small, unassuming yet integral to nature – much like the importance of care in peoples’ lives. It is also one of the only animals in the animal kingdom that increases its sociability in periods of sickness. That’s why the finch, to us, perfectly embodies our positive, progressive and thriving approach to care.
It’s never been easier to start thriving
Whether or not you receive care from Walfinch, you can still learn to thrive with us.
Thrive Clubs
We have set up a series of ‘Thrive Clubs’ across the country – these are free seated exercise and activity classes, designed to help you take back control over your life and health. Our classes are led by certified professionals and are a great way to regularly meet like-minded people.
Wellness with Walfinch
Prefer to stay at home? No problem. We have a free YouTube series called ‘Wellness with Walfinch’, designed to share wellness information and accessible fitness routines. You can find these episodes on our YouTube channel, helping you to stay fit, wherever you are.

Quality care you can trust:
Our carers are the most important people in our organisation because they are the people who care for you. We believe that the better we treat them, the better care they provide.
Be assured that all our trusted carers
- Pass the ‘mum test’. We only consider employing a carer if we are confident that we would like them to be looking after our own mum.
- Have passed the Government’s enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks and are employed only after positive personal reference checks.
- Have received 30 hours of exceptional training that exceeds the minimum required by the care sector regulators and once employed, take part in regular training workshops to update their knowledge.
- Many have also received specialist dementia care training, including Alzheimer’s care, plus stroke after-care, care for specialist conditions and more. Find out more here.
- Our carer matching service means carers are carefully matched to their clients, so their interests coincide with yours. For instance, if you are a sports fan or enjoy crafts, we will find a carer to suit you, so you will always have topics to talk about.
- Are actively encouraged to bring activity and fun into your life.
- Are local to you, so they know your area.
- Are paid above the usual rates for the care sector and more than the living wage.

Meet our Managing Directors from around the country
By using the franchise structure, we can provide localised care across the country – with the personal touches of a small business, but the consistency, compliance and commitment of a wider organisation.
Whilst our network has their individual reasons for starting a Walfinch branch, their commitment to providing outstanding care and to lengthen clients’ health-spans, is united.
